Director, Human Resources – Ambassador Network

Overall Scope of Role

The primary responsibility of this role is to operate as a key contributor of the Human Resources team to provide oversight, support and management of our Ambassador Network which includes our large contractor and temporary employee workforce. This individual will manage our internal Ambassador Staffing team, will work closely with our contractors/temporary employees and corporate leaders, and will be an extension of the corporate Human Resources team. This role will be responsible for functions such as onboarding, management of our third-party payroll vendor, compliance, employee relations, performance measurement and training and development. This position will work as a member of the Human Resource department to develop initiatives around the overall culture of On Location Experiences and alignment of operational objectives with Human Resource team priorities.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Manage the internal Ambassador Program Staffing Team, providing oversight and development of valued team members
  • Manage our third-party payroll vendor relationships
  • Implement standardized processes and terminology to consistently manage all contractors/temporary employees across all corporate brands
  • Design, implement and continuously improve standardized procedures, systems, controls and governance to guarantee efficient and compliant onboarding and payrolling of contractors and temporary employees
  • Consult with business leaders throughout the organization to develop, grow and manage programs that support business strategies and address staffing challenges
  • Work with the Accounting, Finance, IT, and Legal Departments to implement new business processes and/or systems, analyze spending and assure compliance with all regulations
  • Conduct 1099 qualification analysis to determine whether individuals should be hired as independent contractors or W-2 employees
  • Develop, review and analyze position descriptions and pay scales based on business requirements
  • Review offer letters and contract agreements
  • Monitor use of temporary workforce regarding benefit eligibility under federal guidelines and ensure compliance with all regulations
  • Provide advice and counsel to managers and contractors/temporary employees regarding Human Resource policies and procedures
  • Manage all contractors/temporary employees relations concerns
  • Work within the Human Resource department to develop training programs that will meet the overall organizational needs
  • Develop and analyze metrics to improve business results
  • Work closely with the Human Resources team to develop annual goals and objectives for the department

Qualifications

Required Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field
  • 7+years of experience in Human Resources with payroll expertise
  • 2+ years of experience in the staffing services industry
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills – a collaborative style and ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of federal and state specific employment laws and regulations (to include California and New York)
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and external vendors to maximize performance, creativity and problem solving
  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
  • Ability to think strategically while executing on day to day business needs
  • Ability to balance conflicting priorities among multiple constituencies
  • Ability to adhere to, communicate and enforce all company policies and procedures
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, use discretion and uphold high ethical standards

Preferred Relevant Experience

  • Experience in employee relations, recruiting, employee benefits, and training and development preferred
  • SHRM-CP Certification preferred
  • Experience in management of temporary workforce and independent contractors preferred
  • Experience in managing a team of direct and indirect reports
  • Experience working with Professional Employment Organizations (PEO)

Travel

Must be flexible with work and travel schedule as this role will go onsite for several events
